"I love you and you are important to me, please take care of yourself always", imagine hearing this phrase from a friend? or from persons with intimate relationship with you? then what will you feel? Of course, you will have this feeling of being valued and flattered because of the fact that there is a friend or someone who would remind you that you are important to them.
And how about this, you feel valued because you knew in your mind that those people are important to you too, the feeling is being reciprocated. How much more, if you will hear this phrase from the the One who created you, from the One who knew you before you were born, from the God who created the heavens and the earth. That feeling of being valued will never be the same. Yes my friend, God loves you so much. And I would like to take this opportunity to speak for the pastors; this one is for you.
You are important to God, thus, you need to take care of yourself as a whole, what do I mean by this? Take care of yourself physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally.
For God wants you to enjoy the ministry that He has for you, and I would like to give an emphasis of taking care of your mental health. Take care of yourself with the mindset that God cares for you and He is constantly watching over you just to protect you. And yes, God wants you as a pastor to develop your personality as well because of the fact that you are just human. And this will also fall into the verse in 1 Timothy 3:4-5 4 He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, 5 for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God’s church? We can have a lot of interpretations from this verse especially the theme is about "managing one's household", and at the same time you cannot take care of the church unless you take care of your family first and also yourself, and to further explain this point? It is about readiness in the ministry. "Take care to be ready" as I would say. Your real worth and value cannot be found on someone else, it can be found on God alone.
